On the 6th August 10,000 people marched through Dunedin to support Neurosurgery in Dunedin.

On this page I’m collating media coverage and along with photos from participants.

Video from Anthony Baikie shows about half the march from opposite the Golden Centre.

ODT  “up to 10,000 marched through central Dunedin at lunchtime today protesting the possible loss of neurosurgery services”.

(unless otherwise named, photos from Samuel Mann or Paul Allen via Flickr).

More Circle of Support: Michelle Bissenden,

Perhaps the most exciting bit for me was when the front of the march lapped the hospital and found the rear still on Hanover and even George St.

Great coverage from TV One News’ Tom McRae. Thank you Tom, I think you well captured the strength of feeling and the spirit of the event.

TV3 news video (unfortunately doesn’t really give an impression of the size of the crowd).   Thank you Charlotte for sharing your story again.

Voxy:   Pete Hodgson “The onus now is squarely on Mr Ryall to signal that one service using two-site delivery is the Government’s preferred option, and ask his panel to provide him with details about how that might be implemented.”
